ACTIVE SURFACES® AT THE SUMMER SOU IN TURIN

From June 16 to 20, the eco-active materials by Iris Ceramica Group join the Summer School of SOU Torino dedicated to architecture

From June 16 to 20, the Active Surfaces® materials by Iris Ceramica Group enhanced the Summer SOU experience — the new summer architecture camp organized by the Foundation for Architecture / Turin. This educational initiative skillfully combined play, art, and learning, offering children an immersive experience in the world of architecture and creativity.

Following the ceramic decoration workshop curated by Iris Ceramica and Casa Fornengo, the children received educational gadgets by Active Surfaces®, designed to help them discover in a simple and engaging way the four key properties of these surfaces. Each child
received an eco-active ceramic gadget from Iris Ceramica Group, allowing them to observe its features firsthand. After drawing on the Active Surfaces® and leaving it exposed to sunlight for a few days, the drawing faded — demonstrating the ease of cleaning these natural and sustainable materials.

The four properties were also explored interactively through ICG Play, an augmented reality experience made available via an on-site totem. This innovative and engaging approach helped both children and adults understand the value and function of these materials.

The storytelling and gadgets by Active Surfaces® made the experience even more special and immersive, also raising awareness among the younger generation about the role of innovative materials in sustainable architecture.
