The ARCADIA multi-screen cinema

Le Due Torri in Stezzano, one of the largest shopping centres in the province of Bergamo, was recently extended, with the design by German architect Benjamin Feldtkeller from the firm DW9. Covering 8,000 m2, the facility now hosts new spaces for fitness, food and entertainment. Among these is Arcadia, the seven-screen cinema with maxi-screens and reclining chairs, a foyer, as well as technical rooms and services.

Without affecting the existing structure, the multi-screen cinema covers several floors, five screens running down the edge of the mall and two on the ground floor. Inside, for the coverings and some of the furnishing elements, the FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti Venetian terrazzo-effect full-body collections were chosen, in the Active Surfaces® version.

FMG full-body technical porcelain stoneware welcomes the visitors at the entrance. Venice Villa Silver with Natural finish in size 120x60 cm was used in the foyer for the floors, bar top - the key feature as well as the organizational element of the entrance - and the large seating area in the style of street furnishings, underlining the public dimension of the foyer. The aesthetic and colour continuity continues with Palladio Pisani Natural 120x60 cm laid on the wall behind the bar, the bathroom access area, the vanity tops and walls behind the washbasins. In the bathrooms, the ton-sur-ton effect continues with Venice Villa Rialto Blu120x60 cm used on the floors - in natural finish - and on the walls - in polished finish.

The Venice Villa, Venice Villa Rialto Natural and Palladio collections used in the Arcadia cinema are in the version Active Surfaces®, the eco-active ceramics that, exploiting the photo-catalytic properties of titanium dioxide combined with silver, have antibacterial and antiviral, anti-pollution, anti-odour and self-cleaning properties certified to ISO standards. Thanks to the exposure to - both natural and artificial - light and the humidity in the air, Active Surfaces® are able to eliminate bacteria, viruses, fungi and mould. In the same way, they also eliminate bad odours, prevent the formation of polluting particles and stop the dirt from sticking, making rooms healthier and more comfortable. Their antiviral effectiveness has also been tested on SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19, 94% of which is eliminated in just 4 hours of exposure to natural and artificial light.
