EUROPEAN DESK OFFICERS REWARD THE DIGITALIFE PROJECT WITH A VISIT TO THE PRODUCTION SITE AND THE NEW SHOWROOM

On Tuesday 10th October, as part of the LIFE13 ENV/IT/000140 DIGITALIFE project, Fiandre had the pleasure of hosting European commissioners Dr. Davide Messina, technical desk officer and Dr. Anna Mc Clintock, financial desk officer, together with the Italian project monitor, engineer Lorenzo Mengali, at the Iris Ceramica showroom in Fiorano Modenese. Two meetings were held to discuss ecosustainable materials and results on improving the quality of the environment we live in, as well as the financial/administrative aspects linked to the management of the Life project.
The commissioners visited the new production line in Castellarano, where a new process for activating photocatalytic porcelain through digital technology has been developed and is used to produce the large Active slabs. Digitalised processes have improved the photocatalytic effectiveness of the product in all its properties, from anti-pollution to its even easier and more rapid cleaning without aggressive detergents, odour absorption and anti-bacterial action even against MRSA bacteria, immune to antibiotics and particularly dangerous to man.
The Iris Ceramica Group is involved daily in promoting Innovation, Environmental Sustainability and Digital Technologies, the three key concepts underlined several times also by CEO Ms. Minozzi during the recent Cersaie trade fair.
