“PENNACCHI DI CITTÀ GEOLOGICA” DECORATIVE MURALS

The "Pennacchi di città geologica" project is a decorative work designed by the architect Alessandro Melis for the Vice Consulate of Italy in Arona, Tenerife, created using the innovative technologies of Iris Ceramica Group. Presented during the Italian Design Day, the project embodies Italian excellence as a unique expression of art and technology in this field.

The 6 x 2.50 metre decorative mural was applied as a covering in the Vice Consulate, and consists of five ceramic slabs. Using the revolutionary Design Your Slabs technology, Melis’s original idea was impressed on the Group’s ceramic slabs, creating a unique work that expresses all its subtle artistic nuances. Moreover, the Active Surfaces® technology brought eco-active properties to the surface, making it antibacterial and antiviral, anti-pollution, anti-odour and self-cleaning.

The mural aroused great interest among the people from Tenerife’s art, design and business world who took part in the presentation. A major opportunity for bringing Italian manufacturing excellence into a spectacular space, filled with art works and precious antiques.
